Every war throws up its own irregulars: deserters, contractors, salvage crews and worse. They answer to no doctrine and appear on no order of battle. They are simply there, in the ruins, doing the work.
A generic framework for player-authored squads. Pick a chassis for each Unit, then equip it from the open catalogue of weapons, skills and specialties. Chassis stat lines are drawn from published Unit Types so that a Custom squad costs roughly what an equivalent canon squad would.
Note that while GP costs have been set with best intent, these squads should not be considered to be balanced against each other or against standard squads.
